Winter Skating Tilda

Well, I think I might have almost coloured every Magnolia stamps I own... almost ;o)
They've been released so quickly and so many beautiful ones this year that I just haven't been able to keep up.
This stamp was a special release about a year ago so she will probably find her way into a collection very soon. She is just adorable. She is Winter Skating Tilda.

There is a new challenge at MDUC this week - and it is a sketch by our gorgeous Louise.
It would be great if you could play along!!

The gorgeous chipboard circle and branch are from Make it Crafty.
The poinsettias, pearls and brads are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Everything else is from my stash.

I haven't updated you all about the goings on in our lives here at the moment so I think it is time!
Some of you will know that we have had our house on the market for almost a year now. A couple of weeks ago we finally accepted an offer and are in the process of contracts being exchanged for both the sale of the house, and for the purchase of our new block of land.
It has been a long year and very stressful. BUT - there is a light at the end of that tunnel now and we are so excited to be finally moving on.
Our new home is going to be built on 38 acres (15 ha) looking over a beautiful valley and we are still quite close to town, only 15 minutes drive.
The next few months are going to be very exciting while the house is designed and construction begins. The plan is to be in the new house by May/June. My FIL is a retired builder so will be project managing and we will be doing a lot of the labour ourselves to keep the construction costs low. It is going to be a fantastic experience for the boys, seeing their new home go up around them. Jeroen and I built our current house the same way and while it was so much fun, it was also constant hard work, we were so happy to finally be in the house and vowed never to leave, haha.
So we will be quite busy over the next 9 months or so! I'll try and post some photos as we go.

If I am a little quiet on my blog from time to time, it is probably just because I am knee deep in mud, busy choosing finishes or kitted out with a tool belt and hammer, lol.
I hope to still find time to relax with my beloved Maggie stamps but I just don't know how often!

Well... that is enough of my rambling for now :o)
I do have another card to share with you tomorrow - I have to make the most of my crafty time while I can!

Have a lovely weekend!

Kangaroo Hugs x

It is time for a new sketch over at The Sketchy Challenges!

This week we have a lovely sketch from Cordine to play with.

I have inked up one of the cuties from the Australian collection from Magnolia again. I am addicted to these little lovelies.  I thought I'd have some fun and colour the little roo to be a Red Kangaroo. So far I've only seen her as a grey.

I'd love to see what you do with the amazing sketch Cordine has created for us.

I'll be back tomorrow with more....

TOMIC - only 2 days left to go!!

Hi everyone,
I am really late in posting my card for this month's TOMIC. There are two days to go if you want to enter - as always there is a lovely prize from Magnolia for a lucky entrant.
The challenge this month is - Lisa's sketch, no character stamp (ie, no Tilda or Edwin) and to use Embossing!

I decided to ink up this sweet church and cut into some lovely Magnolia papers.

Lots of Doo Hickeys were used and all of the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Well.. I do have quite a bit to share with you this weekend, so I'll be back a bit later on.

Until then - enjoy your weekend!

Twin Tilda's for my sister

Good morning!!
How is everyone today?
There is a new challenge at Magnolia Down Under today - White on white - we're looking for all white cards with the only colour being in the image.
This is Camilla H's first week playing with us so please check out the post and give her some love.
A massive welcome Sweetie!

I thought it would be a great theme for my sister's birthday card - its her birthday on Tuesday. We were quite close growing up, so I thought this sweet Twin Tilda stamp from the Cosy Autumn collection would be perfect.

I have used some Marianne Design dies along with some Spellbinder and Doo Hickeys.
The flowers and pearls are all Wild Orchid Crafts.
I borrowed my sweet friend Debbie Dolphins pearl string treatment idea. I really love the sweet touch.

I quite like the way the card turned out. Very soft and girly :o)

Everything is coloured with Copic markers and the edges inked with DI Tea stain before adding some white acrylic paint to tone it all down and so the whites matched.

Happy birthday to my big sister, Naomi! I hope you have a great day Tuesday and every time you look at your Pandora charm you are reminded of my little family.

Have a great weekend everyone and I hope to see you at MDUC with some gorgeous white cards!

Tilda had a little lamb

Hi Friends, sorry it has been a little while!
This has to be one of the cutest stamps around at the moment. I just love it. She is from the Little Christmas collection.

I love her poinsettia in her hair and her little lamb. Although... my three year old and I had a bit of an argument about the lamb - he is convinced it is a puppy...lol.

Instead of a sentiment, I used some AC Thickers for the word "Joy". All of the flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts. The cute papers are MME.

I will be back tomorrow with something else to share. Until then,

Pop Up Cards

Oh boy. Well.... it has been a little while since my last post. Sorry friends. There has been a lot happening here.

More about that another time.

This week at Magnolia Down Under challenges we have a terrific challenge for you - Pop Up Cards!!

This is the first pop up card in this style that I have ever made and let me tell you... I was a little bit unsure how I was going to go. Camilla S has done an amazing tutorial for us and her end result is just amazing.

My pop up card is much simpler... here is the cover

And here is the inside:

It was heaps of fun to make and I am really keen to make more now :o)

Of course if you wanted to make a different style of pop up card, go for it, all types are welcome.

Well... that is it from me today. I have a lot of new work to share with you over the next few days so I will be back.

Big hugs xx

Kangaroo Tilda

Wow, what a great weekend. I spent the weekend in Melbourne at my friend Debbie's house with my good friends Karen, Zoe and Bron. We visited Paperific, a papercrafts show, and Zoe and I attended the Magnolia booth for Make and Takes for the day :)
It was wonderful to meet John and Barbro at the stand.
Unfortunately we missed out on meeting Pauline, she was out with her family sightseeing before they had the long flight home.
(I hope you all had a wonderful visit to Australia! Come back very soon xx)

I inked up Kangaroo Tilda for my card. Magnolia released this adorable stamp, along with some cute other Aussie themed stamps just in time for their visit to Australia.
I have another one to share with you, but I'll do that tomorrow.

And now for some photos of us all at Paperific!!

At the Magnolia stand - (see Zoe's amazing Christmas house on the desk there?)
Front - Annette, Jenny
Rear - Bron, , Karen, Kylie (me), Zoe, Debbie, Ashleigh

Zoe and I at the Make and Take desk ready for our first victims! (ahem, stampers).

Karen and I at Cold Rock on the way to Debbie's house :)
It was a brilliant weekend and wonderful to meet my friends who I had only previously spoken to on the internet and on the phone. Thanks Debbie for looking after us all,  you are the "Hostess with the Mostest".
