Balloons ahoy!

Hello friends,
I am here today to share with you a card I made for MDUC.
It is our 6th birthday today. It is also our farewell.

MDUC was started in March 2009 by my friend Kellie , (although, we weren't yet friends) and with Debbie and Kristy, she built up a little challenge blog called Magnolia Down Under Challenges. Magnolia stamps were relatively new to Australia so it seemed like a great way to share the versatility and fun of these adorable stamps.

Only a year later I joined the DT. It was an extremely exciting time and I was overwhelmed. I had only a few Magnolia stamps but was ready to acquire more! Karen  joined soon after.

After Kellie moved on to run her own stamp business, Debbie and I took over as the new owners of the blog, asking Karen to share in the fun with us.   It has been a fun 5 years and MDUC is something that we are so very proud of.

Thanks to MDUC, we have made many special friends around the world. Our Design Team is an amazing group of women - both super talented and beautiful friends.
Without these women we wouldn't have been able to bring you the challenges.

However, the time has come and we need to move on. The dedication to the challenge over the years can't continue as our families grow. It is time to move on to other things. Our families need us.
It is with great sadness that we close the  MDUC blog.

Please join us in celebrating 6 years of challenges by playing along in our last ever challenge.

I used three Tilda's with balloons for my card. I've hand cut a cloud shape and folded an easel card to adhere it to. All three Tilda's are coloured in Copics.

The beautiful embellishments are all from The Ribbon Girls.

A little side view :)

Lots of Doo Hickeys used as well

Thanks for visiting me today. Please stop by the MDUC blog and see the amazing work of our DT. Pay them a visit and say goodbye.

Thank you to Karen and Debbie for everything you've done for me - both challenge wise and as friends. You ladies are the best xxxxx

Forget me not Tilda

Wowee, first day of autumn over here in Australia. So what are we given? A beautiful 30 degree plus summer day. Summer has certainly arrived late here. Which is a little unfortunate as I do love autumn.

I have coloured this adorable little "Forget me Nots Tilda" from the Special Moments 2013 collection for my card and added  lots of gorgeous things from The Ribbon Girl

I went a little overboard with the gorgeous Ribbon Girl goodies.

Tilda was coloured with Copics. The card base was cut using a Doo Hickey die and so was the layer that Tilda is stamped on.

There are even flowers on that delicious lace

Magnolia DT Spring/Easter blog hop!

Welcome to the first Magnolia Design Team Spring/Easter Blog hop!
This is the first of two hops, you can join in again on the 15th to see more amazing creations from Magnolia's Design Team!

We're all very excited to be bringing this hop to you. We owe it all to our gorgeous Debbie for organising it - thank you Debbie!

To be in with a chance of winning one of the 3 prizes from Magnolia Sweden is to leave a comment on each blog in the hop and 3 winners will be chosen at random.
Each hop will last a week.

You should have arrived at my blog from my talented Dutch teamie, Janny.. If not, you can go back to the beginning and join us at either Magnolia World on Facebook, or at the lovely Claudia's blog.

I've chosen to go with the Spring theme for my card. I've used cute "Forget Me Not Tilda" from the Special Moments 2013 collection and masked her with a topiary tree from a very early collection, 2007 or 2008 I think.

Tilda is coloured with Copics and the papers are Prima from about 3 years ago.

Some die cuts to layer

Pretty Kort & Godt rolled paper flowers from The Ribbon Girl

I do hope you're having fun hopping along on our Spring/Easter hop!
The next stop on the hop is gorgeous MAE!

Don't forget - to be in with a chance of winning one of the 3 prizes from Magnolia Sweden is to leave a comment on each blog in the hop and 3 winners will be chosen at random.
Each hop will last a week.

Have fun!

Piping Tilda

I survived the first week back at work! I do have yet another sore throat though, not sure what is causing that, hmmm... anyway! I found some time this weekend to sit at my desk and create.

This is Piping Tilda from the Special Moments collection, isn't she adorable? I have masked her with the Shelf with Kitchen Towels from the So Heavenly collection (2008). I love how all of the collections can be mixed and matches to create your own personal little scenes.

A view of the cute little Cutlery Doo hickey die, love this one!  Lots of lace on this card. The sweet blue lace is from The Ribbon Girl (20mm Dusty blue cotton lace). So is the lovely pearl bead string and amazing Darjeeling Grey/Blue Blossom Flowers.

Tilda is coloured in copics and all of the paper edges are inked in Tea Stain DI.

More Doo Hickey die cuts - Doily, Tag.

Did you see Magnolia Down Under Challenges has started a new Facebook Challenge?
We're all a bit excited about it. The first challenge kicks off on Tuesday 21st, so head on over to the new group and check it out!

Can't wait to get started and interact with you all a little bit more.
Of course we're still running our blog challenge - our first one of the new year starts on Tuesday - so keep an eye out!

Until then, keep crafting!

Tilda with Little Hat

Hey everyone :)
The card I am sharing today is a commission for someone at work. She liked the card I made a couple of weeks ago that she ordered another.

I thought this cute Tilda from the Special Moments collection would look so cute masked together with the Romantic Window background stamp. Its one of my favs but I always forget to use it.

The pretty paper is Prima from my LSS. A doo hickey on the edge of the card and some embellishments and we're done.
I hope to be back in a day or so with a Christmas project I've been working on. I love the new Winter Wonderland stamps,
Until then, have a great week!

Tripping Flower Tilda

Happy Sunday friends,
Another new challenge at MDUC this week - Anything Goes

I've had this coloured on my desk for a little while now.... I wasn't happy with it. The colours were too pale for me I think? So I got out my RV markers and added some contrast. Much happier, but still not perfect.

We'd love for you to join us at MDUC this week.
I'll be back a little later this week.
Hugs Kylie

Sakura Tilda

Good morning! Did you have a good week? Over here it is sunny and spring is certainly here. The paddocks are green and the birds are chirping.

There is a new challenge today at MDUC.  Today we're looking for a colour combination - it is Lori's choice - Blue, brown and white.
I found some noodle boxes at my supermarket this week and thought I would decorate one.
This is cute Sakura Tilda. She was lovely to colour. I adore her hair.

I hope you get a chance to check out the challenge. There is loads of amazing inspiration there.
Well, thats it from me!
I will see you later on in the week

Tilda and her Bunny

Hi there everyone,
I'm late for The Sketchy Challenges again... but Kirsty-Anne is hosting this week with a really great sketch and I just couldn't miss it so here I am with my late card.

This is Tilda with her bunny from the Special Moments collection. Pretty cute huh? I thought she was just perfect for one of my son's little friends who is turning 6 - a great opportunity to make a girlie card with lots of pink :)

The pretty chipboard is from Make It Crafty and I've inked it with versa mark and then added some shabby pink frantage to it. All the edges of the card are also frantage'd  and distressed.

I had to add Molly's name and the number 6 to the card as per my son's request. He was quite specific with his order ;)

I hope you get a chance to come and play at The Sketchy Challenges - the challenge runs until Friday this week so there are a few days left.

Until later,
Kylie x

Forget me not Tilda

Good morning all,
There is a new challenge at Magnolia Down Under this morning. This time our lovely Fleur has chosen the theme and we are Distressing!

I've coloured Forget Me Not Tilda from the Special Moments collection. I just experimented with her hair a bit to get some lovely auburn tones. It was kind of fun to do it a different colour.

The papers are Pink Paislee from an old collection that I am still saving. Some doo hickeys and flowers to go with. The edges are all distressed with my distressing tool and Tea Dye DI. There is also some tearing on some edges. Lots of fun to get rough with the papers!

I hope you can join us this week at MDUC. We're all really enjoying our DT pick challenges. Hope you are too!

Hugs x

Wedding Tilda

Good morning everyone.
Don't you just adore the new stamps from Magnolia? I'm finding it quite difficult to choose a favourite this time around, but this Wedding Tilda is certainly close to the top of the list.

The challenge this week at MDUC is Shabby - as chosen by our lovely Kathrin.
I was sent a little surprise from my beautiful friend Debbie Dolphin - some shabby pink Frantage! Woohoo!! I have wanted to try this amazing new fad embossing powder for some time but its a bit hard to come by down under. I also found some of the Martha Stewart molds and crafters clay.

The papers are Magnolia as well and I have used the new Doo Hickey Lace Coaster.

Some crafters clay leaves

Well. I hope you are able to join us at MDUC this week.
The DT and guest have created some amazing Shabby pieces to share and inspire.
Until later, Hugs x
