Happy New Year

Happy New Year Maggie friends!!
"Begin as you wish to continue" is how I saw the New Year in - at my craft desk playing.
When we moved house my craft room became a bit of a dumping ground for all the bits and pieces that we couldn't find a home for, which meant that it was less than inviting to sit and play, let alone being about to find anything! OMG,  what a mess.
It was time for a bit clean up - and clear out. It took all afternoon but I can now locate all of my dies, markers, stamps and embellishments with a minimum of fuss.

I dug out one of my favourite MME paper pads which is almost finished, its a bitter sweet feeling when your favourite paper pad is just about gone. I feel satisfied that for once I've managed to use something up, but also a bit sad that I haven't saved any of it.

The adorable Tilda is from the 2010 Bon Voyage collection. This is one of my favourite collections I think, I had a lot of stamps from this one and they're so versatile.

I have finally made good use of my Doo Hickey Club vol 1 with the sea weed and jelly fish dies. They're really very cute.
The button, twine, pleated satin ribbon, liquid pearls and pearl trim are all from The Ribbon Girl.

And now for a couple of craft room shots. My desk. This was obviously taken early in the night. Surprisingly enough after the card it is still visible. Most unusual. I just need to stay in the routine of cleaning up my desk after each make. I keep my markers and some dies on my desk. Mostly Doo Hickeys and Spellbinders within easy reach.   The chunkier Tim Holtz dies are in a basket in my book case.

And my stamp and embellishment storage.  The clear trays contain all of my Magnolia stamps divided into collections all in date order. The trays below are my lace, ribbon and flower storage.

I hope to be back with a lot more crafting this year than last. Now that I am finally all set up and organised, there should be no stopping me.

Happy New Year everyone xxx

Finally I'm back with a card to share!

I love the warm summer theme - although it is freezing cold and winter over here in Aus!

I have loads of gorgeous Ribbon Girl goodies on my card.

I have masked two Magnolia stamps together, and fussy cute another Edwin out to join them. All are coloured with Copics. I've coloured the boys in to resemble my little boys :o) The card is for my Dad for his birthday.

A bit of doo hickey die cuts and some distressing and we're all done.

Happy New Year Tilda for a Happy Birthday

Hey everyone, I hope you have all had a wonderful Easter. We're all recovering today from chocolate hang overs. he he he. Good thing it only happens once a year!

I made this card for Magnolia Down Under Challenges - a sketch using this cute stamp from the Christmas collection. She is such a cutie!

The challenge this week is a sketch by me. We would love see what you do with it.

I love the new Magnolia Doo Hickey dies - this one is the new feathers one. So cute!

I have another card to share with you too for this weekend, so I will be back later.

Doo Bee Pops

Hi there friends,
I am back again with something quite cute to share with you today.
Have you seen Magnolia's new Doo Bee Pops? They are vintage honeycomb paper.  The DT was sent some to have a little play with. OMG - these girls are super talented!! Make sure you check out the fantastic stuff they've come up with.

I thought it was timely to make some Easter decorations and made some paper eggs to decorate.

This adorable little Tilda is a newbie from the Little Easter collection, she is Happy Easter Tilda. Its such a cute collection, lots of lovely new stamps to choose from.

So... a little bit of a funny story to go with my Doo Bee Pop eggs.... I needed some assistance from my hubby to get some photos of them... and well... he SAT on one of them! OMG. I didnt know whether I should cry, throw a tanty, or what. I ended up just laughing. The poor bugger, hehehe. He has had a huge day at our new house site pouring the concrete slab, he is exhausted. So I am really not surprised he didnt see where he was sitting!

This one is decorated with flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts

Both eggs have tags and sentiments on them

The pretty lace is from Magnolia.

And finally -

my Hubby in the middle of the slab pour this morning. What a massive job. My father in law is the brains behind the project, organising all the tradies and making sure everything happens as it is supposed to. It is all so exciting and we're really lucky to have this opportunity. The kids are having a ball watching the house come out of the ground.

Well... that is it from me today. I will be back on the weekend.
Until then,

Skiing Tilda

Hello again. I'm finally back with my card for The Sketchy Challenges
This challenge we have Heidy's sketch and it is a really great one to play with - you can add as much or as little detail as you wish!

I've gone with Skiing Tilda for my card. She is so cute all decked out in her skiing gear.

Of course all of the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The lacey border is a Doo Hickey die.

This is the last Sketchy Challenge for the year. The challenge will run until until the New Year and we will be back on 5 January for some more fun. We would love to see what you do with Heidy's sketch so please come and join in the fun.

See you a bit later in the week,
Hugs x

Christmas Ornaments

Hi Friends,
Today I would like to share some cute little ornaments that made for my boys.

I have decorated two kraft board letters that I found  at the local hardware store.

This is Aiden's ornament. He has Ski Edwin with Snowflakes and some more green touches. This kid is in love with green.

And this is Jarred's ornament. He love blue so it has blue moonstone brads and flowers. He has Edwin Skiing from the Winter 2008 collection on his ornament.

I wrote a little message on the back of each ornament and dated them too.

The boys were really excited when they saw the finished result. I was too :) I think I have started a new family tradition - "Mum made" ornaments to each boy each year :)

I should be back tomorrow with something else to share.
Until then
Have a great day!

Tilda and Little Rudolf

Hi everyone,
well its been a week or so but I am back. Things have been a little hectic.
There was a new sketch by Kathrin over at The Sketchy Challenges which finishes this Friday so if you would like to enter - be quick!
I felt terrible because I couldnt get a card done in time for the post, but it was such a great sketch by Kathrin (I love her sketches) that I just had to have a go - better late than never.

This is Tilda with Little Rudolf from the Christmas Story collection and the Winter Night background from 2008.  The papers are all Magnolia. I have used two of the new Doo Hickey dies from the Christmas Story collection too, Christmas Lace and Sprawling Ferns.

All of the flowers, pearls and twine are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I encourage you to go and check out Kathrin's sketch at The Sketchy Challenges, its a beauty! Live and Love Crafts are sponsoring too so there is a fabulous prize on offer. Well worth playing along!

I should be back on the weekend with something new to share.
Until then, have a lovely week.

Jingle Jangle Tilda

Busy busy again, where do the days go? Gosh, I suppose we are on the down hill run to Christmas.

My birthstone is Pearl and light amethyst so I've gone with lots of lovely lavender on my papers and pearls to embellish.

All of the lovely embellishments are from Wild Orchid Crafts

The cute Tilda is a newbie from the A Christmas Story collection and the tree is from 2008 (I think!).

I hope you get a chance to join us this week at both challenges! They work well together.
Until later, Hugs xx

Tilda with Lovikka Mittens

Good morning! It is MDUC time again :) This time we are "Inspired by a Song".
It is probably pretty easy to guess what song I've chosen.

I've been painting again hehe. I'm going to keep trying until I get it right.
These are two stamps from the latest Magnolia Club set. They are from A Christmas Story, the newest collection, Tilda with Lovikka Mittens and Snowy Roof.

All of the gorgeous flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts.

I hope you get a change to play along at MDUC. The girls have done an amazing job.
We can't wait to see what you come up with!
Until later, fa la la la!!

Ski Edwin with Snowflakes

Hi friends,
Gosh, where to begin! Things here have been a little tense lately. Last night I just needed to sit and paint... so that is exactly what I did. Luckily for me my new stamps and papers had just arrived from The Crafty Witch so I was able to get inky with this adorable new Edwin and church background.

As soon as I saw little Edwin on his bot-bot with his skis, I had to have him. I am the world's worst skier, lol, so I had to sympathise, haha. The Swedish Church background was also a must have.

I used my DIs to colour the scene and stamped around the edges with the Magnolia Snowflake stamp.
The papers are Magnolia as well, Scandinavian Map from the Supper Memories collection. Some Doo Hickey die cuts and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, and job done.

I'm slowly getting used to the DIs and painting. Its just practice. The right paper is definitely a must though. We dont really have much of a choice of papers here in Aus, but I am lucky enough to have a Swedish "supplier" of some lovely water colour stock - thanks Louise! It is amazing.

Well, thats it from me today. I will be back on Sunday with more, but maybe I can try and sneak in another card between now and then... we'll see! I hope so.
Until later, Hugs x

Edwin with Sack and Jasper

Ohhh - how I adore these two stamps!! Edwin is ALWAYS adorable in his little Santa suit :) And little Jasper the cat is super sweet too.

I finally splurged and bought a couple of Go Kreate dies and made a little shaped easel card with one for this fortnight's challenge.  I love the fun shape.

I have a heap of WOC products on my card... gosh, I just couldn't stop myself!

Been testing my water colour painting again :) This one was super fun to do.

And some Magnolia paper and Doo Hickey dies and the card is complete!

Until later,
Hugs K xx

Kangaroo Hugs x

It is time for a new sketch over at The Sketchy Challenges!

This week we have a lovely sketch from Cordine to play with.

I have inked up one of the cuties from the Australian collection from Magnolia again. I am addicted to these little lovelies.  I thought I'd have some fun and colour the little roo to be a Red Kangaroo. So far I've only seen her as a grey.

I'd love to see what you do with the amazing sketch Cordine has created for us.

I'll be back tomorrow with more....
