Magnolia Christmas Calendar - Shutter # 17

Hello! Welcome to day 17 of Magnolia's Christmas Calendar

I hope you are enjoying all of the amazing projects from each of the DT so far. There are many more to come so please join us each day.

There are fantastic prizes for you as well. Each day all you have to do is leave a comment on the DT member's post for your chance to win a surprise Christmas present from Magnolia. Thank you so much Magnolia!

I thought I would make a pop up slider card to share with you. I love these cards and they are super easy to make. There are several beautiful Magnolia stamps used on my card...

Tilda with Presents (Wedding Collection) is standing in front of Edwin's Town (Spring 2008) and behind that are the gorgeous pines Forrest Background (Santa 2008).   On the lower right corner is a cute little Bullfinch (So Jolly 2009).

The sentiment is one from my collection and I have stamped around it with the snowflakes (Merry Little Christmas 2010).

The papers are Cosy Xmas from The Scrap Cake and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. All of the edges are inked in Vintage Photo DI and the lacy edge is by one of my MS PATP punch sets.

I hope you enjoyed your visit to my blog.  If you would like to win a surprise magical Christmas gift from Magnolia, please leave me a comment below. I will be back tomorrow to announce the winner.

Have a wonderful Christmas!

Welcome little baby xx

Good morning, good morning, good morning. I hope that the sun is shining where ever you are in this fantastic world today.

We have a new baby to welcome into the family this week! Babies are always a very special gift to any couple, but we couldn't be happier to welcome this one in particular. My husband's gorgeous cousin had a baby boy, Dion, on Monday after a long and emotional journey with IVF. With many of my close friends having to go through this stressful process, we were so thrilled when we heard of thier success.

Welcome to the world baby Dion - you are one very lucky little man to be so wanted by two wonderful people.

Of course when I had to make a special card for little Dion :) I am heading out to the mall today with my kids to find a special pressie for him. I'm thinking a toy kangaroo, hehe.

For my card, I used the terrific sketch which is the new challenge at Magnolia Down Under Challenges this week. My gorgeous friend Karen designed the sketch and I love how it turned out with my card.

Of course I had to use the cute little "Sitting Alvin" from the Spring Summer 2008 collection for my card.

The papers are MME Fine and Dandy True Blue. Cute hey? The beautiful lace is from Magnolia and the flowers are all Wild Orchid Crafts. I finally used my new Magnolia Doo Hickey dies - and I loved love love them.

Well.. thanks for your visit today. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, I will be back tomorrow with something else to share,
Hugs
Kylie xx

Tilda is gardening!

Good morning Sunday! Well... it is Sunday already down here in Australia. And that means that it is time for another Magnolia Down Under Challenge.  This week we are looking for.... Acetate.

I was a little bit stumped for what to do! I did consider a Shaker card, but there were already two of those on the blog and I am hopeless at stamping on acetate... just too impatient for the ink to set!  I wanted to do something a little bit different so I thought I'd make an acetate box. I had no idea what I was going to put in it, or how it was going to turn out, I just grabbed some patterned paper and started scoring.

It took three attempts at scoring the acetate to get the fold correct, it was late at night and the old brain just wasn't cooperating! The top and bottom of the box are made from Prima Botanical paper and I was given a gorgeous new PATP set from one of my bloggie besties for my birthday so I had to test it out straight away!

I was in a bit of a painting mood so I inked up "Tilda's Birds", "Butterfly background" and "Garden Tilda" with Versafine and stamped them onto some delicious watercolour paper. I'm still a bit of a novice with watercolouring, but I was quite happy with how the images turned out. Like with Copics, the choice of paper really does make a difference.

In the base I've scrunched up some cheesecloth and glued in some flowers. The background is attached to the back of the acetate box and Tilda is standing on some tabs that I've attached to the base.

The edges of the box have been distressed with Walnut stain and liquid pearls dotted around.

Sorry for all of the photos, but I was kind of pleased with how my little box turned out. It is a bit like little Tilda is in an atrium, lol.
Thanks for visiting me today :) I'll be back tomorrow with something else to share!
Hugs xx
