TOMIC challenge #13 - Back to School + Metal
Ohh... its TOMIC time again! Aren't you all just LOVING it? I know we are loving seeing what you are creating to show us every week.
This week the challenge is... Back to School PLUS Metal.... sounds like fun? Yes, I thought so! I thought I would make a tag using adorable little Study Tilda from the So Heavenly collection from 2008.
The beautiful papers are Pion Design and all of the embellishments are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Little miss Tilda is coloured with Copics in muted tones and the paper edges are distressed and inked.
I hope you have a chance to come and play along with this week's challenge.
Thanks for stopping by to check out my tag.

Texture
Good Morning everyone. I hope you are all having a great weekend.
There is a new challenge at Magnolia Down Under today and this week we are asking you to show us some texture.
My Doo Hickey dies arrived this week (woooohoooo - so excited) so I used the little cloud and coloured up with little Sweetie Tilda from the Sweet Rainbow collection.
I love these book box cards so I thought I would make one for a birthday gift. The gorgeous papers are Crate Paper. Love them! They are so bright and cheerful. The quality of the paper is amazing, so heavy. All of the flowers and lace are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
And the inside with a little pocked for a note and the cute little box. I was a little bit punch happy.
We would love to see what you create for us this week.I hope you get a chance to pull out your favourite Maggie stamps and show us some texture :)
Until then, have a fabulous weekend!

TOMIC #12 - recycle
It's time!!! It is Monday and you KNOW what that means - a new challenge at TOMIC! This week at TOMIC is very special - we are celebrating the birthday of the Magnolia Ink Magazine - its two years! How amazing is that? And because the Magnolia Ink is printed on recycled paper, the challenge this week is to.... RECYCLE SOMETHING. So here is my little project for this week:
And what did I recycle you might be wondering? Here is it..... empty boxes from my kids snacks (yeah, I'm cheap, lol, I buy store brand snacks hahaha). I adhered my patterened paper to the cardboard and then put it in my Cricut and cut out the birdcage shapes. I love recycling! And this was a good experiement to see how the Cricut went cutting out something with great detail on heavier card. It worked brilliantly!
All of the edges are inked with Walnut stain then stamped around each piece with "New Years Swirl" from the 2008 New Years Collection. The chipboard bird is painted in Distress Crackle paint. I had stitched the lace to create the little flower, then added a Prima pebble. The rub on is Kaisercraft. The white rose was a gift from my beautiful friend Jane and the deep pink flower at the bottom was a gift from my cousin.
The papers are Prima Botanical. This page of the album features the sentiment from the Sweet Rainbow Collection. The leaf is by Magnolia. The glitter heart is Melissa Francis. The Eifell Tower has been in my collection for so long I dont know where it came from... but it is so lovely and sparkly :) Love it!
Here is adorable Ballerina Tilda from the Fairytale collection 2010. The shabby flowers and pebble are Prima. The leave and berries are Magnolia and the pink hydrandea is Petaloo. The pearls are Flourish with a Bling.

So that was my effort of recycling this week! I had a ball putting this album together. It is loads of fun creating somethin other than a card sometimes.
All of the images are coloured with Copics. Oh, and here is a repeat of the first pic of the cover so I can give you the details.... Beautiful Tilda from the Butterfly Dreams collection and large Dragon fly doo hickey die. The taupe rose trim is from my gorgeous bloggy "sister" Louise :) As are the Prima Botanical papers. Thanks Hunny! The roses are Wild Orchid Crafts.
I hope you like my little project as much as I liked creating it :)

Flutterby
Gosh, aren't the weeks flying by? Can you believe it is only 4 months until Christmas? I am trying to get into the Christmas spirit early this year as I am currently trying to get some pieces done for the Christmas issue of Magnolia Ink. Hmm.... I was kind of hoping the newly released Christmas paper ranges would help with that! But I think I might have to put on some Christmas Carols to do the trick :)
My card today is for Magnolia Down Under Challenges where the challenge this week is Flutterby - Use a butterfly - or many butterflies on your work. I thought it was a brilliant excuse to get out my MS Butterfly edge punch and make an accordian card.
I've coloured four Magnolia stamps from the Butterfly Dreams collection for my card, including the adorable little Magnolia. The papers are just gorgeous, they are Pion Design all the way from Sweden.
Aren't the papers perfect for this challenge? I am just in love with them. The amazing flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts. All of the images are coloured with Copics. The pennant banner is cut by hand and dotted with Liquid Pearls. All of the panels are stitched to the card.
The reverse side of the card has little pockets on each panel with different tags in them for messages to the recipient.
Some detail shots of the cute Tilda's and Magnolia. And the amazing colour of the WOC flowers. Check out that amazing Trellis Rose. I wish I could grow roses like this one! It reminds me a lot of the roses I had in my wedding bouquet. Just stunning! There are more punched butterflies and some silver butterfly charms as well.
I hope you get a chance to come and play at MDUC this week. The girls on the DT have put together loads of gorgeous inspiration to share with you.
I will be back tomorrow with my creation for the next TOMIC challenge. I'm not going to let out any secrets, but it is a special week at TOMIC this week, not one to be missed ;)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Hugs K x

Rocket Man
Well... I made it! Yes. I wasn't sure I was going to get it done but I did. So without any further whinging from me about germs and illness and sleep deprivation (hehehe), here is my project for this week's Magnolia Down Under Challenge......
Yep, I scrapped again. This adorable and happy little man is my eldest son. This photo was taken a few weeks ago after a hair cut. He was so proud to have hair like Daddy (rather than a head full of amazing rose gold curls) he was just beaming! There is nothing quite like your child being happy is there? Seeing their beautiful face lit with joy or hearing their infectious giggle. Its just magic. All those stresses and worries just fade away and the world seems right again. Sorry..... getting a bit soppy there. But after the fortnight we have had, I just had to soak it up for a bit :)
So back to what I am here to tell you! The challenge this week at Magnolia Down Under Challenges is "Inspired by a song" so I have chosen to scrap this cute photo of my baby with the title "Rocket Man". His bedoroom is decorated in a space theme and he just loved the moon, starts and spaceships. Typical little boy, haha. I'm afraid I can't really shed any light on the papers though as they really are all scraps. Most unusual for me, I usually cut into the gorgeous new stuff :) The two Magnolia stamps (Rocket and Moon) are from the new "The Winner takes it all" collection. The sketch is the August bonus sketch #1 from Stuck?! challenge. I'm not sure I'm supposed to link it up due to their challenge rules, but I wanted to share the link with you anyway as the sketch was heaps of fun to play with.
So there it is... we would love to see what you come up with at MDUC this week. The DT have gone all out as usual so do head over and see what magic they have whipped up for you again.
I just also wanted to share the cover of the new Magnolia Ink which will be out very very soon.... gorgeous isn't it? I'm not sure who created the cover as it is by a reader not a DT member so there is some very lucky person out there about to squeal when they see the cover with their gorgeous artwork on it :) Gosh, I would love to be in the room with whoever that is when they see it. A big congratulations to you whoever you are!!
Well.. that is it from me today. Sorry for the really loooong post. It seems I have my voice back ;)
Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting me!!

A Clean and Simple Tilda?
Oh boy - did someone say the forbidden "CAS"? Oh yes. Yes they did. Panic!! lol. Truth be told, I love clean and simple cards. There are some very talented ladies out there who make the most amazing CAS cards and I am very jealous, hehehe. I just dont 'do' them myself :o) But yes the challenge this week at Cute Card Thursday is in fact clean and simple... and it was FUN. Oh yes it was heaps of fun.
I inked up little Tilda with balloons (ahem, minus the balloons) and rummaged for some of my favourite Bo Bunny Kitchen Spice papers and went to work.
Thanks for visiting me today. I will be back tomorrow with a layout to share with you :)

Fly me to the Moon!
So I am late making and posting my card for Magnolia Down Under Challenges. Kathrin has designed a gorgeous sketch for us to play with this week and I'm afraid in my tired state I haven't done it justice. Sorry Kathrin! But it is a great sketch so I will use it again for another card down the track and give it the attention it deserves.
I finailly inked up some stamps from the new The Winner Takes It All collection. OMG - I have had these stamps sitting on my desk for at least a month now so it is about time. I am so pleased to have finally made a card with them as they are so cute all coloured up. The papers are all Websters Pages.

I stamped around the edge of the image with Versamark and the starts from the You are so Special collection then sprinkled on silver embossing powder and heat set. Tilda's helmet is coated with Glossy Accents. The teal net trim is Websters and the rhinestone stars are Kaisercraft. The silver berries are Magnolia and the flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts.
Thanks for visiting :)

Altered canvas, part 2
Hello there crafty friends! I hope you are all well :)
It is time for another fun challenge at Cute Card Thursday and this week we are challenging you to use NO patterned paper! OMG. A little panic here at my craft desk for a second until I realised that I could make part 2 of my little alterend canvas set.
So once again, I've covered my canvas in Gesso and cheesecloth and then sprayed it in glimmer mist and set about decorating it. The adorable Brother and Sister Tilda and Edwin stamp came out along with the Eiffel Tower (one of my favourites). I used these stamps as they reminded me of my Hubby and I when we were in Paris.
The tag and photo anchors are from The Kraft Outlet. All of flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts (I will update these a bit later). The scrabble tiles are from ebay :)
Hope you are enjoying your week! I can't believe it is Thursday already. Gosh!

Beary Special
How is everyone going this week? Things here are travelling well. Although after a few days at child care last week for 'orientation' my youngest and I now have our first colds of the year. Oh well :) We can't live in a germ free bubble can we! lol.
Just for a little change I've made a rectangular card and used a Magnolia Doo Hickey die on the bottom edge wtih my Grand Callibur.
The sweet bear is "Nalle Bear", a very early Magnolia stamp. I've masked him with the balloons from the You are so Special collection from earlier this year.
Thanks for visiting,
Hugs Kylie xx
