TOMIC #49

Hi there everyone, gosh, has it been a whole week?
Things here have been really busy, but I finally found some time to make a card for this week's TOMIC challenge. This week we're playing BINGO! Its a nice easy one to play along with.

I found cute "Will You Be My Valentine Tilda" from the "You are So Sweet" Collection 2011.
The shaped card is cut on my Cricut. I've gone with the Yellow, Pearls, Shaped Card line.

The sentiment is a Kaisercraft rub on. All of the flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts. There are some of my absolute favourites on here... including the Chrysanthemums - wow! You'll be seeing these on my cards a lot until I run out haha..

I hope you get a chance to join in this week.
The girls have made really beautiful cards as inspiration to share with you.

Thats all from me, so enjoy the rest of the week,

TOMIC #17 - Get Inspired

Happy Monday to you all!
Are you ready for some luxury and elegance? The new challenge at TOMIC this week is just perfect if you are. Not only do we have the most fantastic sketch by Tina to play wtih, there is also the theme of Gustavian Style with a stunning inspiration photo to get your creative juices flowing.

For my card, I took inspiration from the lovely gold furniture and the cute kitty :) I guess it is kind of obvious, but the fabulous Vintage Chair from the You are so Special Collection was the perfect choice for this challenge.  If you are curious about Gustavian Style, you can read about it HERE. There are lots of fabulous hints.

I've used Magnolia papers for my and some Prima lace (the darker cream lace) and a mix of flowers from Magnolia, Petaloo and WOC.  The Vintage chair was inked in Versamark and embossed with gold EP. Tilda and her kitty are both coloured quite pale in Copics.

I hope you have a chance to play along with this challenge this week. It was heaps of fun, I just loved the inspiration pic and reading about the style inspired by King Gustav III.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today. I will be back with something else to share with you tomorrow.
Have a great day!

A Clean and Simple Tilda?

Oh boy - did someone say the forbidden "CAS"? Oh yes. Yes they did. Panic!! lol. Truth be told, I love clean and simple cards. There are some very talented ladies out there who make the most amazing CAS cards and I am very jealous, hehehe.  I just dont 'do' them myself :o)  But yes the challenge this week at Cute Card Thursday is in fact clean and simple... and it was FUN. Oh yes it was heaps of fun.

I inked up little Tilda with balloons (ahem, minus the balloons) and rummaged for some of my favourite Bo Bunny Kitchen Spice papers and went to work.

So just to stay 'true' to myself, hehehe, there is a bit of inking and stitching and some stickles :)
Thanks for visiting me today. I will be back tomorrow with a layout to share with you :)

Beary Special

How is everyone going this week? Things here are travelling well. Although after a few days at child care last week for 'orientation' my youngest and I now have our first colds of the year. Oh well :) We can't live in a germ free bubble can we! lol.

Just for a little change I've made a rectangular card and used a Magnolia Doo Hickey die on the bottom edge wtih my Grand Callibur.

The sweet bear is "Nalle Bear", a very early Magnolia stamp. I've masked him with the balloons from the You are so Special collection from earlier this year.
Thanks for visiting,
Hugs Kylie xx

Good morning! How is your weekend going? I had a lovely afternoon out yesterday colouring with some local crafty girls. It was loads of fun! If you're reading this ladies - Hi!! (waving madly!).

I would like to share another altered project with you today :) I'm on a bit of an altering rampage right now. I just love getting the paint out and mixing up some new glimmer mist and getting stuck into a new project. My kids better watch out, lol, stand still too long and Mummy might find a way of painting you and sticking a Maggie to ya too!

My project today is actually for Magnolia Down Under Challenges.  This week the challenge is BINGO! Woo hoo! So much fun. I used the line that included lace, chipboard and paint...

So this started out as a 6 inch square canvas. I gave it a couple of coats of white Gesso and while it was wet I put two layers of cheese cloth over it making sure the creases stayed and when dry I sprayed some DIY glimmer mist on it in Vitcorian Velvet :)

The paper doily has been scrunched then inked wtih Old Paper DI (the ink pad straight onto the doily). The chippie leaves and butterfly are both from Make it Crafty and the wooden Dress form is by Kaisercraft.

Just about everything else is from my stash.

There is a little wooden cotton reel on the side here and a decorative pin as well. The beautiful Tilda is Tilda with Big Bow from the You are so Special collection 2011. She is just lovely sitting on the gorgeous Boutique Window from the Bon Voyage collection 2010.

This lovely shabby flower is by Prima and the shoe charm has been sitting in my stash for a while waiting for just the right project.

Do you like the scrabble tiles? lol, nope, I didnt raid the games cupboard! They are from ebay. This pic shows the glimmered cheesecloth a bit better. I didnt plan this, but the tag on the dress form looks like a price tag, haha. Pure luck!

So there is my project for this week. I hope you like it! It was just a little thought that turned into something for me to hang in my craft room. I just love creating little treasures for myself hehehe.

I hope you get a chance to come and join us at MDUC this week!
Thanks for your visit today :) Chat again soon!

Tilda with Ribbon Hair

Hi there everyone, I have a little shaker card here to share with you today. I inked up the ADORABLE little Tilda with Ribbon Hair for this card. I just love her.

The pretty lace behind Tilda is a paper doily that I've pleated.

Little Tilda is perched up on the postage shape chippie shaker which is painted in Distress Crackle paint, Tattered Rose.
The papers are Girls Paperie. Love them too.

Thanks for your visit today! Enjoy your week,
Hugs Kylie xx

A Magnolia scrap page

Good morning! I hope you are well and enjoying your day where ever you are around the world. Are you having a great weekend?

Well... I promised to share my scrap layout... and here it is! It is for Magnolia Down Under Challenges new challenge which is up this morning - Stitching and Swirls.   Why a scrap page you ask? Well... my gorgeous Magnolia Teamie Ying  shared a layout she put together last week and I was inspired! She encouraged me to have a go so here it is... I have managed to use a few different Magnolia stamps on my layout... there is:
  • mini "Lots of Love Tilda" from the You are so Special collection 2011
  • Heart Splatter from the You are so Special collection 2011
  • three butterflies from "Fairytale" collection 2010
  • Post Angel Love from Valentine collection 2009
I have also used the beautiful Heart Swirl doo hickey die.

The year Jeroen and I were married we were lucky enough to go to Europe for a few weeks. One of the amazing places we visited while we were there was of course beautiful Paris. I have been meaning to do some layouts of our travels, wedding and our beautiful boys for a couple of years now but I never got around to it. So Ying, thank you so much for the encouragement, this is the first page of what is going to be a very full scrapbook!

I have possibly gone right over the top with my page, lol. I have so many gorgeous bits and pieces that I haven't used on cards because I'd been 'saving' them... so of course I put them all on the one page haha.

This beautiful crochet flower is made by one of my lovely blogging friends in Holland, Ingrid. Thanks Ing, I told you I'd put them to good use :) I am so pleased to have a little piece from Holland on my layout. Jeroen was born in Holland and we spent most of our holiday there so it was a must have :)

This gorgeous Prima pearl flourish was a pressie from another of my blogging besties, Karen.

The pink gingham yoyo is also from Karen for my birthday last year and the Prima flower is from the very gorgeous and talented Debbie P for my birthday this year. The crochet lace you can see peeking out under the flowers I've saved from a pressie from two gorgeous ladies, Jackie and Kylie aka "The Other One", lol.  I'm very spoilt and I have the most wonderful friends.

The papers are all Girls Paperie. The little wooden bits and pieces are Kaisercraft and the sparkly hearts are Melissa Francis.

Thanks for checking out my scrapping. I know I have a bit to learn (like when enough is enough, lol) but I thoroughly enjoyed creating a page. Expect to see more!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend my friends,
Hugs xx

Leaning Tilda

Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a lovely week so far.

My card today is for this week's Cute Card Thursday. The challenge is a Sketch with a bit of a twist... you have the option of using any current sketch from another challenge, an old Cute Card Thursday sketch.. or design one of your own!

I've gone for the 'design your own' option and drafted up this sketch...(feel free to take it if you want to).

I have also finally inked up my Romantic Window stamp. It was one of those 'must have' purchases that has been sitting in its packaging for months - so BAD! I have masked it with Leaning Tilda and some topiary plants (all Magnolia).

The cute papers are all Magnolia as well from the new Mini papers collection. I just love the smaller size patterns. The inside of the card is also decorated and stamped with another plant for a bit of colour.

Have a great day,
Kylie

Tilda Spreads Thanks

Yayayay!! It is Friday! So... what does everyone have planned for the weekend? I have my fingers crossed for a lot of craft time, yes, like most weekends, but also hoping for dry weather so we can get a lot more gardening done as well. We have had an unusually wet summer so the garden has just been alive with weeds. The joys of having a large garden I suppose! So with a little bit of luck we should get ahead of them this weekend.
This card I am sharing with you today is actually one I began for last weekend's Magnolia Down Under Challenge "Anything but a square" but it just wasn't working for me in time so I made a different card instead. I finally got it finished though this week and can show it to you now. I don't like unfinished cards sitting around on my desk :)  If you still want to enter the challenge, you have until 8am tomorrrow morning... so about 12 hours to go!

This is "Tilda Spreads Love" from the You are So Special Collection. Oh my goodness - there were so many "must have" stamps from that collection. I do think I went a little bit overboard, but oh well.. it is fun to spoil yourself sometimes, haha.

I used my Cricut and the SCAL software to cut out the hearts for the heart shaped easel card. The papers are BG Olivia and there is a fair amount of stickles and rhinestones added to the card as well.

Thanks for dropping in :)

Be My Valentine Tilda

Good morning! It is Magnolia Down Under Challenges time again! This week we are looking for - "Anything but a square (or rectangle)".... I have gone with a label shaped card, cut using my Cricut and the SCAL software.

This adorable Tilda is "Be My Valentine Tilda" from the You are So Special" collection. I was so tempted to use one of the new cuties from the Spring Club which arrived this week, but I had already coloured this Tilda and it was such a shame not to use her. I'm sure the newbies will be coloured and making their way to cards very soon! hahaha.

I've coloured Tilda with my Copics and have gone for a much softer look with my colouring. I have to say, this subtle affect is much more "me". The photos don't show it very well, but there is some Copic Spica at You "clear" on Tilda's flowers and the lace on her dress hem and hair.

The lovely papers are Websters minis.
The Magnolia Down Under Challenge "Anything but Square" challenge runs until 8am Saturday (Melbourne, Australian time) so please drop by and check out the fabulous DT inspiration and try your luck!

Thanks for visiting me today :)

Shy Edwin says Thanks

Ohhh - is this Edwin you spy? lol - yes it is!

I have finally inked up this sweet Edwin for a thank you card. A relative from overseas sent over a lovely present for one of my boys and I have been a little slow in sending her a thank you so Edwin here is winging his way over to The Netherlands to say thanks for us.

The layout of the card is pretty basic but I wanted Edwin here to be fairly prominent. The papers are a mix of the You are So Special collection and Hoppy Easter collection. The pretty ribbon has been sitting in my ribbon drawer for some time so I thought it should get some light. The cherry blossom and mini roses are form Wild Orchid Crafts.
Edwin's top is coloured with YG 95, 91 and E 0000 using the Tip to tip technique as there isn't a "YG90" lol. His pants are the E 40's.
Thanks for dropping by,
Hugs, Kylie

Birthday Tilda

Hi everyone, thank you for visiting today. How is your day going?

This is my third week as a Guest at Cupcake Craft Challenges and the challenge this week is a really fun one - Cake and Icecream! YUM! It gave me a chance to colour up my new "Birthday Tilda" and to try out a "taartpunt" (cake box). I've had the cut file for this for months and haven't tried it out so it was a fantastic opportunity to give it a go.

I've used the Doo Hickey dies "Old Swedish Lace" on the side edge of my card, some of the paper flowers and the leaves.

It is a bit hard to see in the photo, bt the cake and the pink 'satin' parts of Tilda's dress and shoes are all coats in Crystal Effects.

The inside of the card is decorated with a matchng Mini World Birthday Tilda and an old sentiment stamp from Kaisercraft.

And finally, the cake box by itself.  The papers are a mix of Girls Paperie and MME. All of the edges are distressed with Walnut Stain and stitched.

Sorry, there were a lot of photos today! Thank you for staying with me if you have gotten this far :)

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!
Hugs

King Tilda

Good morning! I hope everyone is well :)

My card today is for Magnolia Down Under Challenges #84 - Distressing.
I have used the adorable "King Tilda" and the balloon background from the You Are So Special collection.

The papers are Prima "Anaalee" and the flowers are a mix of Prima, Wild Orchid Crafts and Magnolia.

Tilda is coloured with Copics (R 85, 83, 81, RV 10, 000). I've distressed all of the edges with my Tim Holtz edge distresser and added some stickles and pearls here and there.

The challenge at MDUC is open until Saturday 8am to enter and we would love to see what you have to show us.

With all my Love

Happy Valentines day!!  Valentines Day is usually a bit of a non-event in our house, lol, but I had a bit of a horrible morning so at lunch time Hubby brought me home a big bunch of pink roses! It was such a lovely surprise, just what I needed to turn the day around :)

Today I have to show you my card for Cupcake Craft Challenges. It is my second week as a Guest DT for Cupcake Craft Challenges, and this week the challenge is.... I Heart You, pretty easy huh? It was the perfect opportunity for me to ink up my new "Tilda with Heart Lace" and cut up the great papers that are part of the new collection as well.

So as you can see, I went a tad heart crazy :) My gorgeous friend Debbie will be pleased, haha!

The gorgeous glittery heart is Melissa Frances and the metal corner is Tim Holtz.

I hope you get a chance to head over to Cupcake Crafts Challenge to play along and to check out what the fabulous DT have created.

Big Ribbon Tilda

Ohh - it is the weekend. Yay! I think we are going to have a quiet one, catching up.

I've had this cutie sitting coloured up for a while and I wanted to try something a little bit different so the card isn't what you would normally see when visiting me, but I hope you like it anyway :)

This is Big Ribbon Tilda from the You are So Sweet Collection recently released. She is just gorgeous isn't she? The amazing papers are Prima "Annalee". I've sort of patched the patterned papers together with some zig zag stitching rather than layering them.

I have stamped the sweet sentiment directly onto the patterned paper as well.. something I really dare to do in case I rock the stamp a little and ruin the entire card! The gorgeous glittery heart is Melissa Frances.

"There was a little girl

who had a little curl".... Yup, that is what this little reminds me of. She looks so sweet!  This is Tilda with Ribbon Hair from the just released You are So Special collection.

Tilda is sitting on the new "Vintage Couch", also from the You are So Special collection which is stamped on vanilla cardstock with "Old Paper" distress ink and cut using a Nestie, Label 17. I've used those gorgeous Girls Paperie papers again (from Lime Tart) and some Doo Hickey dies (Old Swedish Lace, Tilda's Lace)

There is some of that lovely Tim Holtz film strip ribbon in there and some pearls as well.  Tilda's hair was something new for me! I've not coloured such tight curls before.

All of the layers are stitched of course, and because I didnt trust myself to stitch around the couch panel, I just used my paper piercer.

I just love this new collection from Magnolia. There were so many new stamps out this time - I think I've ended up ordering most of them!

Tilda with Small Gift recycles

Ohhhh - It is Magnolia Down Under Challenges time again! This week the challenge is Reduce, Reuse and Recycle! Got ya thinking? I know I was a little stumped when I first saw the challenge... but, it was fun!

I used a box that my Copic refils come in and I altered it. I opened it up, cut off the flaps and flattened it down and went to work.

The beauty of altering something relatively small is you can use scraps of paper from other projects to decorate it.  The buttons are from my Mum, the green ribbon on the tag is recycled from a parcel.

This cute little Tilda is Tilda with small gift and is from the new You are So Special collection. I made the tag by cutting a piece of card and using a Nestie Label 4 on the top to cut the shape.

I hope you have some time to pop over to Magnolia Down Under Challenges to play along this week.
