Australian Tilda

Hi there everyone

Ok, I confess - I'm a hoarder. A paper hoarder. I have amazing papers in my collection that I just cannot bear to cut into, but for this challenge I bit my lip and scored, punched and painted the most adorable Pink Paislee papers and teamed them with adorable little Australian Tilda.

There are so many Wild Orchid Crafts goodies on my Napkin fold card.

The sentiment is a rub on from Kaisercraft.
Edges punched with a Martha Stewart PATP set, some liquid pearls and white paint to finish off.

I hope you get a chance to join us at WOC this fortnight. The girls have created some amazing works to share with you. Jaw dropping stuff.

Thats it from me today. My little man turns 3 tomorrow so we have spent the day making his birthday cake and getting ready for some visitors. He is so sweet, all he asked for is a green "buttaloon" (balloon). So proud : ) Needless to say, his big brother and I loved wrapping his birthday pressies together tonight. I'm not sure who is more excited, the birthday boy, his proud big brother or his mum and dad :)

Farewell Tilda

Good morning everyone,
I hope you have a fun weekend planned?
We're having a nice quiet one. Yesterday we headed out to the shops with the boys to find some ingredients for my eldest son's birthday cake - he is determined that he will have a blue truck cake for his birthday on Saturday next week, lol. Its amazing how strong minded a little boy turning 4 can be ;)

My card today is for two challenges that went live this weekend....

This is a card for Oma Jo. My husband's grandmother who was here visiting us from Holland over Summer. My little boys grew quite attached to her while she was here and although she has been back in Holland for almost two months, they are still asking for her to come and play.

I have inked up Farewell Tilda from the Bon Voyage collection of 2010. This is the first time I've coloured this stamp and she is just adorable. I wasn't so happy with the way I coloured her hair, but oh well.

The papers are Lost and Found Two Blush. I love this collection. The pinks are so rich.
The flowers are all Wild Orchid Crafts and the gorgeous taupe rose ribbon is from my sweet friend Louise in Sweden. She sent me this ribbon last year and I use is so sparingly so I have it forever, lol. The cream cotton lace with ribbon through it is from Magnolia.

I hope you get a chance to join us at both Magnolia Down Under and also The Sketchy Challenges - why not combine your project for both challenges as I have done?

Until later, have a great weekend,
Hugs K

TOMIC #36 - Edwin + Tina's Sketch

Hi there Maggie fans!
There is a new challenge up at TOMIC today! It is a special challenge as it is Edwin's birthday!
The challenge is to use EDWIN and follow the fabby sketch by Tina.

I took the opportunity to ink up little Pirate Edwin from the Bon Voyage 2010 collection and have masked him on the Pier background from Lazy Summer Days 2009 collection. I love this cute little Edwin.

Tina's sketch is a really great one to add your own personal touches to. I've used my Doo Hickey banner die (love it) and some little metal photo holders, along with some shells and a charm. The papers are Basic Grey Oliver.

We would love to see what you come up with this week at TOMIC. There is a fantastic secret prize up for grabs from Magnolia for a lucky winner as well.

Thats all from me today. I hope you've had a happy Wednesday whereever you are in the World!
Until later, have a great week

Good morning! How is your weekend going? I had a lovely afternoon out yesterday colouring with some local crafty girls. It was loads of fun! If you're reading this ladies - Hi!! (waving madly!).

I would like to share another altered project with you today :) I'm on a bit of an altering rampage right now. I just love getting the paint out and mixing up some new glimmer mist and getting stuck into a new project. My kids better watch out, lol, stand still too long and Mummy might find a way of painting you and sticking a Maggie to ya too!

My project today is actually for Magnolia Down Under Challenges.  This week the challenge is BINGO! Woo hoo! So much fun. I used the line that included lace, chipboard and paint...

So this started out as a 6 inch square canvas. I gave it a couple of coats of white Gesso and while it was wet I put two layers of cheese cloth over it making sure the creases stayed and when dry I sprayed some DIY glimmer mist on it in Vitcorian Velvet :)

The paper doily has been scrunched then inked wtih Old Paper DI (the ink pad straight onto the doily). The chippie leaves and butterfly are both from Make it Crafty and the wooden Dress form is by Kaisercraft.

Just about everything else is from my stash.

There is a little wooden cotton reel on the side here and a decorative pin as well. The beautiful Tilda is Tilda with Big Bow from the You are so Special collection 2011. She is just lovely sitting on the gorgeous Boutique Window from the Bon Voyage collection 2010.

This lovely shabby flower is by Prima and the shoe charm has been sitting in my stash for a while waiting for just the right project.

Do you like the scrabble tiles? lol, nope, I didnt raid the games cupboard! They are from ebay. This pic shows the glimmered cheesecloth a bit better. I didnt plan this, but the tag on the dress form looks like a price tag, haha. Pure luck!

So there is my project for this week. I hope you like it! It was just a little thought that turned into something for me to hang in my craft room. I just love creating little treasures for myself hehehe.

I hope you get a chance to come and join us at MDUC this week!
Thanks for your visit today :) Chat again soon!

TOMIC Challenge #7

Hi hi :) It is Monday so you know what that means! It is time for another challenge at TOMIC.  This week we are looking for a NAUTICAL themed project.

This was a fantastic excuse for me to ink up one of my very much neglected stamps from the Bon Voyage collection from 2010.

To keep with the Nautical theme, I've used red white and blue Magnolia papers and some cheese cloth (my netting, lol) and raffia.

The inside is also finished off with the same theme with the adorable little Pelican sitting there.

Tilda's anchor is coated with some German glass glitter in silver and although the pics don't really show it all too well, it is gorgeous IRL. I've done a teeny bit of distressing with some inking and paint.

I hope you have time to play along with us over at TOMIC this week :) We'd love to see what you create for us!

Shopping Tilda

After a little bit of reassurance from my watercolouring friends, I've decided to share a card I made over the weekend where I watercoloured the image - OMG - yes - watercoloured!

Most of you know that I am a Copic girl, through and through! I've never been very good at watercolouring, it requires patience :) But sometimes I just want to paint, so on the weekend, that is what I did. I actually painted two images.  This one is Shopping Tilda from the Bon Voyage collection.

Tilda's skin looks a little olive as I painted in Vintage Photo... I only have four DI's so made do with some Stampin Up inks I had in my drawer. I need to get a few more colours of DIs if I want to paint more.  The papers are Prima Annalee (yup, again!).

So yes, something a little different from me today! I'm feeling brave so wanted to share :)
If I get a card done with the other image I've painted  might show you. Its nice to try something a bit different for a change.

Thanks for checking in with me today!

A happy card for a sad goodbye

I have a really bright happy card to share with you today. It is however, a bit sad too. This card is my last DT card for Creatalicious Challenges. Creatalicious was my first ever DT assignment and I will always be grateful to Bec and Cheryl for asking me to come and join them for six months, which turned out to be eight months, lol. So a big thanks to Bec and Cheryl and best of luck for the future to the entire DT. They have been wonderful to work with.

Now... the challenge! This month is a colour challenge - PINK, GREEN and BROWN. And I have to say, I do use these colours frequently... but I had so much trouble coming up with something. I guess I wanted to have something really pretty for my last card.

Then my I Can Fly Tilda stamp arrived in my mail box and the Dawny's Just Magnolia sketch appeared and it all fell into place.

Secretive Tilda

Woo hoo! It is another long weekend here in sunny Canberra! Two in a row. Got to love that! My boys are very happy to have Daddy home from work that extra day.
My card today is for the new challenge at Magnolia Down Under - a colour challenge looking for Yellow, Blue, Green and Kraft. I really loved this colour selection. Such warm colours.

I decided to go with the butterfly theme on the paper and added a stamped butterfly in the corner for fun. The giant yellow rose is from I am Roses. There is a sentiment on the tag which I didnt get a photo of, but it says "Sweet Wonderful You".

Tilda hits the Boutiques

It is so very cold here at the moment. I am very much looking forward to spring. I can see the green tips of my jonquils poking out of the ground now, so a few more weeks and we should have some nice spring feeling in the garden.

At least with the cold and wet weather there are plenty of reasons to stay inside and keep warm... and sit at my craft desk and colour!

I got out my new Magnolia stamps to play with for my card today. I have coloured the images with Copics and added some crystal effects to the window and Tilda's bags and shoes.

And I have also decorated the inside of the card...

Japanese Tilda goes PINK

Good morning! I had this cute little Japanese Tilda stamp from the Magnolia Bon Voyage collection just waiting to come out to play so I had to dress her up with this beautiful paper.
