Sweet Crazy Valentino

Finally! I have finally coloured one of the new "Sweet Crazy Love" stamps - and wow, this collection is just gorgeous - gorgeous!!

This is Valentino. Don't you just adore his hair?

I fired up the trusty Cricut to cut my card shape. As I was colouring up Valentino I thought he belonged on a lovely fluffy cloud :o)

I coloured Valentino with Copics...
Skin - E 11, 01, 00, 000, R 11, 12. Hair - E 55, 53, 44, 42, 41. Top - R 12, 11, 00, 000. Pants - E 74, 71, 70.  Arrow and bow - W 5, 3, 1, 0, E 42, 41. Wing - BG 72, 10, 0000

The sentiment is also Magnolia, from the 2009 Love collection.   The papers are Pink Paislee and all of the edges are inked with DI Weathered Wood.  The flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts.

I have a couple more projects to complete for the next Magnolia Ink magazine but I hope to get some more of these cuties coloured up and at home on cards in the next week or so - I'm a tad addicted to them :o)

I hope to see you soon! Thanks for stopping by.

Pin Up Girl

Good morning! It is (hopefully) another sunny day here in Canberra. As usual I am actually typing this post just before I go to bed and scheduling it to appear first thing in the morning :o)

Today it is time for a new challenge at Magnolia Down Under Challenges and this week we are looking for LACE AND RIBBONS... easy peasy.

I decided to make something a little bit different for a change. I was sitting at my desk hunting around for a packet of pretty pins I had stashed somewhere. I don't know about you, but I have packets everywhere.  I was in need of a pretty storage solution for them - and a child safe one in case my little boys broke into my craft area (hmm... yes, it does happen!).  And then I thought back to my sewing and quilting days and went on the hunt for some pretty quilt fabrics I knew I had somewhere.. yes, another treasure hunt :o)  I have stamped and coloured on fabric before knew it could be done so I thought this may just work...

PIN CUSHIONS!

I actually made a few because I thought I would like to post some off to friends. They are stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa onto pre-washed Calico and coloured very quickly with Copics. I then added some pretty fabrics, lacce, ribbons, buttons and charms to girly them all up. Each pin cushion has a little loop of ribbon at the top so it can be hung up nice and high.

When colouring on fabric, it is important to prewash the fabric to remove the 'size' (the chemical added to the fabric during manufacture). It is also important to know that the copic ink tends to feather very quickly so you have to work fast. Normally when colouring faces I use five different colours to blend. On fabric because you are unable to blend as effectivly, I used  R21 for the cheeks and then only three shades for the skin. Try to stay a little further away from the stamp lines than usual until you are comfortable with how far the ink will feather.  The only other tip I really have for you is that these are not wash proof... if you wet them, the ink will run and create quite a pretty faded rainbow :o) So it is best only done on items that don't get washed... such as these pin cushions.

This last one isn't quite finished as I ran out of stuffing. It is a bit larger and more embellished.

I have used some of my favourite stamps on these pin cushions:
Beautiful Tilda and Tilda with Lace Jeans - Butterfly Dreams Collection 2011
Tilda with Hearts - Love Collection 2009
Lovely Tilda - Cozy Autumn 2010

We would love for you to join us at Magnolia Down Under Challenges this week for our challenge. We always love to see what you create to share with us.

Thanks for checking out my little project today - enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Magnolia Down Under Challenges - "Love" with Amor Tilda

Good morning and happy Sunday everyone! My card today is for Magnolia Down Under Challenges..and the challenge this week is love!

I have used the adorable "Amor Tilda" from the Love Collection 2009. I've been wanting this Tilda for a while and I finally bought her as a little pressie to myself a couple of weeks ago. I think she is adorable.

I've made a circle shaped card and used my Doo Hickey dies to make the paper lace around the edge and the Doily die for one of the layers, Nesties "Classic Circles" and "Lacey Circles" for another layer. I've probably gone a bit nuts and over done the card, but oh well, it was fun to do :)

I wanted to colour Tilda's clothes in Copic colour B52 to match the pretty roses on the paper... but it is one of those lonely colours with nothing lighter or darker to blend with (poor B52, lol) so I used the tip to tip technique to colour the dress and headband.

All of the papers are distressed and sponged with Distress Ink "Old Paper". The sketch is from Mojo Monday and the papers are Magnolia as well. The flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts.

Ladybug Tilda goes dotty

Hi there! I hope you're having a great day. I have Ladybug Tilda here to share with you today from the Raising the Ceiling/Right Through my Heart collection from 2010. This was the first time that I've actually coloured this little darling up.
I thought I'd have some fun with my Cricut and cut out the hearts from the Basic Grey June Bug paper pad. The white paper lace is cut with the Magolia Doo Hickey die "Tilda's Lace". The cute sentiment is from the 2009 Love Collection.

All of Tilda's little hearts have had some stickles added. She is coloured with Copics. I've created some grass for little Tilda to stand on and sponged the clouds in the background.

I've punched out little hearts from the DP and some cardstock, stacked them and given them a dose of Glossy Accents.

And of course a little ladybug embellishment to finish :)

Have a great day !

Mini Tilda on her love muffin

Good morning! Well, its morning here anyway. I have another Magnolia Mini card here to share with you today. She is Tilda Carrying Birthday Cake and she is part of the You Are So Special collection. The Love Muffin is from the 2009 Love collection.

This card was helped along by using the sketch from CLP Challenges #32  and the colour combination from Magnolia-licious Challenges.

All of the colouring is by Copics. The papers are from the Kaisercraft Devonshire paper pad and the gorgeous green ribbon is from SU!  The icing on the cupcake and the green ribbon are both coated in Crystal effects.

A Christmas gift from the Heart

Hi everyone! Well... here it is, my very last Christmas card with a Magnolia stamp... I think... :o)  I have a couple more Christmas cards on the way, but I am fairly sure this is the last Magnolia one.

It is time for Magnolia Down Under Challenges #76 today... and the challenge this week is Red, Chocolate and Cream.... perfect for Christmas cards or any other occasion really! I chose to make a card and matching gift wrap for a little pressie for a great friend :o) She hasn't received this yet... lol, so it is a little bit of a sneak peak and I'm not going to name any names, hehehe.

This is my last Christmas Maggie to be inked up. She is Jolly Tilda and she is sitting on the little fireplace from the 2009 Christmas collection. The papers are a little bit of a mix.. they are Basic Grey Archaic, Cloud 9 Design Fleur and SU. All of the images are coloured with Copics and the edges of all of the papers are inked with Distress Ink Vintage Photo. The panel that Tilda is sitting on is embossed with a Craft Concepts folder called Venus.  The pretty chocolate lace is Websters trims.

Here is a little close up. She is such a cutie! She looks like she is keeping a secret :)  The holly leaves are cut using my Whiff of Joy die. The swirl is cut using the Magnolia Doo Hickey swirl die.

The gift is in a lovely box as part of its packaging, but the sleeve around the box was pretty boring and daggy, so I removed that and made a new sleeve from cardstock and covered it in patterned paper and a belly belt and a big bow. I've stamps and colours the little bauble images that came in the Christmas Stamp Club from Magnolia and then popped them on foam tape and given them a coat of Crystal effects to make them shiny.

Both the card and the box have been generously sprayed in Iridescent Gold Glimmer mist. I love that stuff! But gosh, it smells a bit when its wet! It was a bit hard to photograph but I was determined!

The challenge will run until Midday Saturday so if you have some time to craft, please check out our little challenge. The DT have come up with some amazing creations.

MWAH!

Good morning and happy Friday to you all! I was having a little play last night with one of my first Magnolia stamps, she is such a sweetie.

I never seem to use my RV markers very much so this was something new for me and I tried to colour Tilda so she looked almost like the was watercoloured. Whether or not I got it right or not, I don't know, but I like how she turned out anyway, lol.

Here is a little close up of Tilda. The image was cut and embossed using Nestabilities Labels 4 and the edges sponged with distress ink "Antique Linen".

And a side view:

I have to wonder if my Cuttlebug is wearing out though? I'm having some trouble with it not cutting right though the cardstock unless I pad the stack out with a couple of sheets of paper. I haven't heard of them doing this before? Has anyone else had any issues with theirs?
